Meet the inspiration
A little dog. A big beginning.
Canine Equation Training & Advocacy LLC was founded by a dog owner with a passion for understanding dogs. We care about the individual dog, their needs, and the family who shares their life.
That passion began in childhood, through 4-H and time spent training a family dog named Rascal. Later, an adopted dog named Rusty brought a new set of challenges — and a new reason to learn.
Rusty was clever, spirited, and full of personality. Navigating his separation anxiety and dog reactivity became a lesson in communication, consistency, and the importance of advocating for a dog who needs help.
After time away from training while attending college, learning from other trainers inspired a return to that work. Walking clients became training clients, and a personal approach began to take shape. That became Canine Equation.
Our purpose
Train the dog.
Teach the person.
We often think of ourselves as educators as much as trainers. A lesson should help you understand what your dog is learning, why an exercise matters, and how to carry it into your own routines.
We focus on owner education, relationship, and obedience. Those pieces support one another: understanding builds confidence, consistency strengthens the relationship, and clear expectations make it easier to practice useful skills.
